‘Fortunate Son’ has eyes on the United States title
DiBiase: looking fowarrd to TLC
Imagine a man who is, let’s say on average 240 pounds of solid muscle, swinging a metal chair into your back, your stomach or your head. Man, it’s quite frightening. I’ve been on the receiving end several times!
There will be carnage inside the ring as bitter rivals square off for the prestige of a championship or the bragging rights that accompany victory.
We don’t know what it’s like to battle with such dangerous weaponry, so we caught up someone who does, Raw roster member Ted DiBiase.
The Fortunate Son told skysports.com just how hazardous table, ladder and chair matches can be and which of that brutal trio he most enjoys competing in.
The former tag-team champion also talked about his new role as an NXT pro, his designs on winning the United States title from Daniel Bryan and the pitfalls of dating a beautiful woman…
skysports.com: Are you getting excited about WWE TLC, live on Sky Box Office next week?
TED DIBIASE: Yeah. It’s always exciting when you never know what’s going to happen. There’s a lot of added danger, so it always brings a little more edge to the table. And I will be there one way or another.
skysports.com: The event is in its second year now. Is it a concept that the Superstars are happy with or are they a little bit nervous?
TED: I think it’s a mixture of both. The fans really buy into it because it’s not what they see week to week. It’s only on special occasions like this when you see guys climb 18 feet in the air and then fall from the top of a ladder to the floor or through a table. It’s exciting, but it’s a little bit nerve-racking at the same time.
skysports.com: What’s your experience with ladder matches?
TED: I was in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match this past year and that was actually my first experience. I’ve been in cage matches and stuff, but nothing with ladders. It was exciting, but there was a lot of anxiety beforehand. Those ladders aren’t very sturdy and when you get in the ring and there’s guys like Mark Henry bouncing around it’s quite interesting.
skysports.com: Tell us what we can expect from a tables match.
TED: Have you ever fallen through a table? It hurts! It’s amazing what you can do with tables if you look back at some of the matches that have been on before. The guys really get creative with these extras. You can go through them and some guys like Kane or Big Show can lift them and swing them like a baseball bat. These guys are ungodly strong! Everybody gets excited when you see the tables stacked on each other and a guy goes to the top turnbuckle and goes through two tables. It’s crazy.

Josh Matthews has joined Lawler and Punk on commentary. Before the match starts, Nikki Bella comes walking out to ringside to cheer Bryan on. Ted and Bryan lock up to start the match. They go back and forth until Bryan takes Ted to the mat with an armbar. Bella and Maryse come in and go at it. Bella gets a two count. Maryse takes Bella down by her hair. Maryse misses a clothesline and Bella rolls her up. Ted breaks the pin and Bryan comes in to knock him to the floor. As the referee is distracted, the other Bella rolls her sister out of the ring and switches with her. Maryse comes over and Nikki rolls her up for the pin and the win.

- After the match, Ted and Maryse have words in the ring. Ted is arguing with her and Maryse responds with a hand to his face, telling him to hush it. Back to commercial.
Our friend Tiffany, from DiBiasePosse.com, came up with this great idea for all of you to write a letter to Ted, keep reading for the information.
Very simply, it’ll be a fan book. If you’ve met Teddy, feel free to send in your pictures. You can include a letter if you’d like. If you don’t have pictures to share, just writing a letter is fine, too. Of course artwork/graphics of any kind are also acceptable. Basically anything that can be sent to me via email and printed is okay to be included.
I’ve not set a deadline just yet. I’ll let you know when I do.
This will be given to Teddy personally, so rest assured what you send me will go directly to Teddy himself. Smiley
I hope to see some of you participate. If you know anyone who might want to contribute, please by all means let them know so they can. The more submissions, the better!
All contributions can be emailed to me : Tiffany@DiBiasePosse.com
Thank you!
